Started originally as a
shipping company, the CSC Fuel Card Group has made significant inroads
into the fuel card market in the UK and Ireland since its establishment in
1993. With fuel prices soaring, businesses can make significant savings

Based in Scarva, CSC Group offers refuelling facilities and massive
card savings throughout the United Kingdom, the
Republic of Ireland and also mainland Europe
for businesses of any size.
The CSC Fuel Card was launched in the UK in 1993 with just a few
fuel retailers on the Group's network. In the past 15 years the group has
increased its coverage tenfold and built up a substantial customer base.

personal attention, unrivalled levels of customer service and excellent
value for money.
CSC Fuel Cards eliminate the need for businesses to
carry costly stocks of fuels. Because of its extensive network of outlets,
drivers can fill up around the country at a time and a place that best
suits the individual.
Businesses also benefit by paying a uniform price for fuel at each and
every authorised filling station around the country. Discount of between
three and four pence per litre on pump prices is also another benefit.
CSC Card Holders get a better rate than somebody paying cash at the pumps.
The savings are considerable.
Accounts are settled by direct debit and excellent credit terms can be
negotiated - up to six weeks credit on purchases depending on
when fuel is purchased.
At the end of each period the customer receives a detailed invoice and
transaction breakdown. The transaction list would give details of
date, time, location, vehicle registration number, mileage, quantity
drawn and driver details. It enables the operator to closely monitor the
performance of each of his vehicles.
CSC Fuel Cards can be tailored to be vehicle or driver specific, depending
on the requirements of the individual customer. The system is very
flexible in that respect. The cards can include the registration of the
vehicle, or the drivers' name, whichever is appropriate. Importantly only
fuel can be drawn on these cards. They cannot be used for any other
purpose.
On its inception 15 years ago, the company established the CSC Card for the UK
market. Since then CSC has grown a huge fuel card market share in
Ireland and now
plans to expand its customer base into mainland Europe.
For UK & Irish hauliers travelling further afield CSC can offer
the ReD European fuel card, which can be used at
3000 locations across mainland Europe. This card is invaluable to the international haulier.
As with the CSC Fuel card, demand for the European card is growing at a
pace. Increasingly international hauliers are opting for the European
card, because in many cases fuel is cheaper on the continent than it is in
the UK. We find that many truckers involved in European work use the CSC
card and the European card in tandem.
To complement its fuel card activities, CSC also supply a
number of extremely useful toll cards of interest to international truckers.
CSC is an agent for French, Italian and Spanish
motorway
toll cards and electronic
windscreen tags. CSC supply Caplis, Via and Autopistas cards. Similarly,
CSC also acts on behalf of the toll operators on the Mont Blanc
and Frejus tunnels.
Using these cards eliminates the need to carry cash. They also do away
with the need for queuing at toll booths. Truckers can gain up to two
months credit on their transactions as well as discounts up to 30 per
cent. Some of the fuel cards on the market can be used at these tolls. But
our cards are specifically for road tolls alone, that is why they deliver
better discounts.
Some fuel cards are
multi-purpose and cover fuel, tolls, etc, but the haulier is paying
a premium for the privilege. Individual cards are much more cost effective
and offer bigger discounts. With multi-purpose cards hauliers are paying
for convenience.
As alluded to previously, CSC sets its stall out to deliver high
levels of customer service, with the accent very much on personal
attention. With a fulltime staff of just eight people customers are
assured of individual and friendly attention at all times.
